6:49.328 – the time taken for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS to complete the infamous ‘ring.
The world-famous Nordschleife a 20.8-kilometre circuit has been the ultimate test of performance car capabilities for years. Porsche brand ambassador Jorg Bergmeister, who had a large influence in the development of Porsche’s latest track toy, the 911 GT3 RS, had the privilege of taking this flagship Porsche around the infamous ‘ring for its official hot lap. The time… 6:49:328 minutes – 10.6 seconds faster than the current GT3!
The latest edition of Porsche’s road-legal sports car utilises advanced technology and concepts from the world of motorsport – achieving uncompromising peak performance. The naturally aspirated, high-revving engine produces a staggering 525PS of useable power utilising a new lightweight construction technology. The links to its motorsport cousin are clear, but it is in the extreme aerodynamic concept, producing 860 kilograms of total downforce that sets the GT3 RS apart from other sports cars.
Andreas Preuninger, Director of GT cars at Porsche was delighted with the result, saying, “Today the 911 GT3 RS delivered what it had already promised at first glance – absolute excellence on the racetrack… Considering the far from ideal conditions, with a strong headwind on the long straight of the Döttinger Höhe and cool asphalt temperatures, we are satisfied with this time. The 911 GT3 RS is setting new standards for aerodynamics and the chassis. Never before has a road car embodied so much motorsport.”
“We lost a little downforce due to the strong, sometimes gusting wind, but I’m still very happy with the lap,” says Bergmeister. “In the fast sections, in particular, the 911 GT3 RS is in a league of its own. Here it’s on a level usually reserved for top-class racing cars. The car is also setting new standards in braking. Fast laps on the Nordschleife are simply so much fun in this car.”

For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) range and Equivalent All Electric Range (EAER) figures are determined with the battery fully charged, using a combination of both battery power and fuel.
Values are provided for comparison only. To the extent that fuel and energy consumption or CO₂ values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Optional features and accessories can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel or energy consumption and CO₂ values. Vehicle loading, topography, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, energy consumption, electrical range, and CO₂ emissions of a car.
