Porsche Centre Swindon Small Services

28/7/2022

We know that when it comes to your Porsche you only want the best, and sometimes it can be easy to forget about the small services that will keep your Porsche in its prime. At Porsche Centre Swindon, we focus on the detail and believe in providing the most comprehensive service that we can, that is why we want to update you on the small services available from our Porsche Approved workshop.

Air Conditioning

One area of Porsche maintenance that is often overlooked is the air conditioning service. Most vehicle manufactures would suggest that your air conditioning gas and lubricant should be changed every couple of years. If you suspect it has been more than that, then it’s probably worth checking in with your Porsche dealership to find out when your air con was last serviced. Neglecting your Porsches air conditioning could have more negative effects than you realise. An inadequately maintained air conditioning system must work a lot harder to produce cold air for your cockpit which can lead to a higher fuel consumption and a loss of engine performance.

Drainage Checks

Living in the UK can mean unpredictable weather conditions and often a lot of rain. Did you know that your Porsche contains several drainage tubes that all help to redirect excess water away from the more critical areas of your Porsche, such as electrical control units and even the battery. Over time your draining tubes can become partially, or even fully blocked meaning excess water cannot drain away. This could lead to some severe issues including electrical damage and internal flooding. In some instances, improper maintenance of your Porsche drainage system can even affect your Porsche warranty. We recommend having your drainage tubes checked once a year, or in line with your Porsche service schedule to keep water flowing properly. Drainage checks are not included in a standard Porsche service so if you suspect that it has been a while since your last check, get in touch with our Centre today.

Tyre Checks

Your tyres are critical to the performance of your Porsche and there are several factors that can decrease tyre efficiency, incorrect tyre pressures and overly worn tyres are typically the two leading factors. It is a legal requirement in the UK to have a minimum of 1.6mm tread depth and improper tyre pressure could wear your tyres to this point sooner than expected. Therefore, it is critical to check in with your Porsche Centre on a regular basis to make sure that your tyres are in optimal health. Everybody has their own unique driving style so the strain you place your tyres under will vary from person to person. It is also vital to recognise that different weather conditions can have an impact on the durability and performance of your tyres. You may wish to consider alternating between winter and summer tyres depending on the season as both provide significant performance advantages during their designated weather conditions.
